THE LEGEND
Krali Marko was guarding the Troyan Pass, and his sister guarded the pass after her name Mara - Maragidik. Once she had a bad dream and called her brother to tell it. While she was telling the dream, the Turks invaded Southern Bulgaria. Krali Marko jumped and started fighting them. The ridge now called Turski Rut (Turkish ridge) was covered by their dead bodies, but yet other Turks kept coming on and the hero was getting tired. Then Krali Marko being very angry threw his heavy mace against the Turks. It flew over Turski Rut and fell far away in the site of Padish (the fallen). |
